Installation Help & FAQ
Some vehicles have very small assemblies or little room behind the assembly due to other car parts being very close to the back of the assembly such as a radiator, backing plate, etc. In such cases, one or more components of the Xenon HID kit might not clear, and installing any Xenon HID bulb will not be feasible for these vehicles.
As per our Terms & Conditions, given that Xenon HID bulbs contain extra components not found in halogen bulbs (including but not limited to ballasts, controllers, etc.) some vehicles may not have the clearance to host aftermarket Xenon HID bulbs. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that installing a Xenon HID headlight conversion kit is feasible before ordering.
Please contact us to return your order if your vehicle cannot accommodate Xenon HID bulbs.
Yes. The plastic cover is only there to protect the bulbs during shipment. If the plastic cover is cracked or shatters during shipment, simply remove it and proceed with installing your Xenon HID lights.
To remove the plastic cover, simply unscrew the top of the cover from its base. Remove both completely before proceeding with the installation.
If your Xenon HID headlight bulbs have a cracked or broken plastic cover, please see the answer to the question above.
If your Xenon HID bulb is damaged in a different way such as a broken bulb, damaged or broken base, damaged, or broken wires, please contact us so we can replace the bulb(s) for your free of charge.
Some vehicles have a special mechanism to hold and secure the bulbs within the headlight assembly. This is occasionally found on some German cars such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW and from time to time in Korean cars such as Hyundai and Kia.
From time to time, the original mechanism will not fit over a Xenon HID bulb and as such, you will need to get one that will fit over the Xenon HID bulb. They are extremely cheap and easy to find on eBay and Amazon.
As per our Terms & Conditions, adapters/retainers/clips may impact installation and fitment and are not included in our Xenon HID headlight bulb conversion kits. It is the customer's responsibility to acquire said adapters/retainers/clips and to ensure they are compatible with our Xenon HID bulbs and products before ordering.
Some vehicle headlight assemblies are sealed off with a dust cap, dust cover, or headlight cover to prevent dust, moisture, humidity, etc. from entering the assembly.
Although these covers generally fit over our Xenon HID bulbs just like for halogen bulbs, they don't for certain vehicles with very small or tight assemblies.
Since our Xenon HID bulbs do a great job of insulating the inside of the assembly, it is safe in the majority of vehicles to keep these covers off. If your vehicle is very low to the ground or exposed to high levels of water, mud, moisture, etc. you can purchase an oversized cap that will fit over the Xenon HID bulbs on eBay or Amazon for very cheap.
As per our Terms & Conditions, given that Xenon HID bulbs contain extra components not found in halogen bulbs (including but not limited to ballasts, controllers, etc.) some vehicles with a smaller headlight or fog light housing and/or dust covers may require minor modifications to complete the installation. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that installing a Xenon HID conversion kit is feasible before ordering.
If your Xenon HID bulbs are flickering or strobing, it is most likely because you require a warning canceller / anti-flicker or because of Daytime Running Lights (DRL's).
If your vehicle requires a warning canceller / anti-flicker but you did not order it with your kit, you can order a pair here.
If your vehicle has Daytime Running Lights, please disable them for the Xenon HID bulbs to work as expected.
A Xenon HID warning canceller (also known as an anti-flicker or capacitor) is an accessory required on some vehicles to prevent your headlights and fog lights from flickering (strobing) and to eliminate the dashboard warnings normally caused by aftermarket bulbs.
The warning canceller bypasses your car’s computer system so the aftermarket Xenon HID bulbs can function properly. If your car requires a warning canceller but it is not added to your order, our Xenon HID bulbs will not work at all or as expected.
Warning canceller is required on the following vehicles:
