Installation Notes

  • Always perform the installation when your vehicle is turned off
  • Do not touch the bulb when turning your vehicle on and off
  • We recommend wearing gloves during installation
  • Never touch the LED bulb diodes with your fingers because it will impact the light output
  • If ever the bulb gets in contact with any contaminants, simply wipe the bulb with rubbing alcohol and a dry cloth
  • Never look directly into the LED bulb because the light emitted can be very bright and hurt your eyes
  • Keep the LED bulbs away from flammable materials
  • Do not attempt to point the bulbs upwards as it will blind other drivers
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the bulb or any part of it - contact us if you suspect any issues with the product

Installation Help & FAQ

My LED headlight bulbs won't fit, what do I do?

Some vehicles have very small assemblies or little room behind the assembly due to other car parts being very close to the back of the assembly such as a radiator, backing plate, etc. In such cases, the LED bulb's fan might not clear, and installing any LED bulb will not be feasible for these vehicles.

As per our Terms & Conditions, given that LED bulbs contain extra components not found in halogen bulbs (including but not limited to micro-fans, drivers, etc.) some vehicles may not have the clearance to host an aftermarket LED bulb. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that installing an LED conversion kit is feasible before ordering.

Please contact us to return your order if your vehicle cannot accommodate LED bulbs.

My LED headlight bulbs won't turn on, what do I do?

If your LED headlights bulbs are not turning on, please visit our LED Troubleshooting Guide.

Do I need to remove the clear glass lens?

Yes. The clear glass lens is only there to protect to bulb's diodes during shipment. If the lens cracks or shatters during shipment, simply remove it and proceed with installing your LED lights.

To remove the clear glass lens, simply unscrew the metal cap at the top of the bulb and slip off the lens. You can keep the cap off or put it back on, it makes no difference to the light output.

My LED bulb is broken, what do I do?

If your LED headlight bulbs have a cracked or broken clear glass lens, please see the answer to the question above.

If your LED bulb is damaged in a different way such as missing LED chips, damaged or broken stem, damaged, or broken fan, please contact us so we can replace the bulb(s) for your free of charge.

My original bulbs have a retainer ring, clip, adapter, or bracket to secure the bulbs that don't fit over the LED bulbs, what do I do?

Some vehicles have a special mechanism to hold and secure the bulbs within the headlight assembly. This is occasionally found on some German cars such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW and from time to time in Korean cars such as Hyundai and Kia.

Most of the time, the original mechanism will not fit over an LED bulb and as such, you will need to get one that will fit over the LED bulb. They are extremely cheap and easy to find on eBay and Amazon.

As per our Terms & Conditions, adapters/retainers/clips may impact installation and fitment and are not included in our LED headlight bulb conversion kits. It is the customer's responsibility to acquire said adapters/retainers/clips and to ensure they are compatible with our LED bulbs and products before ordering.

My dust cap, dust cover, or headlight cover does not fit with the LED bulbs installed, what do I do?

Some vehicle headlight assemblies are sealed off with a dust cap, dust cover, or headlight cover to prevent dust, moisture, humidity, etc. from entering the assembly.

Although these covers generally fit over our LED bulbs just like for halogen bulbs, they don't for certain vehicles with very small or tight assemblies.

Since our LED bulbs do a great job of insulating the inside of the assembly, it is safe in the majority of vehicles to keep these covers off. If your vehicle is very low to the ground or exposed to high levels of water, mud, moisture, etc. you can purchase an oversized cap that will fit over the LED bulbs on eBay or Amazon for very cheap.

As per our Terms & Conditions, given that LED bulbs contain extra components not found in halogen bulbs (including but not limited to micro-fans, drivers, etc.) some vehicles with a smaller headlight or fog light housing and/or dust covers may require minor modifications to complete the installation. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that installing an LED conversion kit is feasible before ordering.

My LED headlight bulbs flicker/strobe, what do I do?

If your LED bulbs are flickering or strobing, it is most likely because you require a warning canceller / anti-flicker or because of Daytime Running Lights (DRL's).

  • If your vehicle requires a warning canceller / anti-flicker but you did not order it with your kit, you can order a pair here.
  • If your vehicle has Daytime Running Lights, please disable them for the LED bulbs to work as expected.

Do I need a warning canceller?

An LED warning canceller (also known as an anti-flicker or capacitor) is an accessory required on some vehicles to prevent your headlights and fog lights from flickering (strobing) and to eliminate the dashboard warnings normally caused by aftermarket bulbs.

The warning canceller bypasses your car’s computer system so the aftermarket LED bulbs can function properly. If your car requires a warning canceller but it is not added to your order, our LED bulbs will not work at all or as expected.

Warning canceller is required on the following vehicle manufacturers:

Acura , Audi , BMW , Cadillac , Chevrolet , Chrysler , Dodge , Ford , GMC , Honda , Infiniti , Jeep , Lexus , Mercedes , Mini , Mitsubishi , RAM , Volkswagen , Volvo.
