Jump starting your car in 4 easy steps

In order to jump-start your car easily, you'll first need a portable jump starter. A portable jump starter is a wireless battery pack equipped with a 12-volt port and special booster cables. Using this device, you'll be able to boost your own battery without the help of another car.

1. Turn on portable jump starter and plug booster cables

Connect the special booster cables to the jump starter's 12-volt port and turn on the device. Make sure the jump starter is at least 50% charged. The device will perform better with more battery power.

2. Connect booster cables to the car battery

Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) terminal battery terminal and the black clamp to the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. Crank your engine to draw power

Start your vehicle as you normally would using your key or push-start button. Let the vehicle run for about 1 minute.

4. Disconnect booster cables and power off jump starter

Disconnect the red clamp first and then the black clamp from the battery terminal after you have successfully boosted your car. Power off the portable jump starter and disconnect the booster cables from the device. Put the battery and cables inside the case and store in your trunk for future use.

Tips & Tricks

  • To get the best results, use it when the battery level is between 70% and 100%. Depending on how drained your battery is and the size of your vehicle's engine, undercharged jump starters may not perform as expected.
  • Never crank the engine for more than five (5) seconds as you may damage your car's battery, the portable jump starter or both.
  • If your engine does not start the first time around, wait about a minute before attempting to crank your engine again. Never crank your engine more than five (5) times.
  • Always make sure to connect the red clamp to the positive terminal (+) and the black clamp to the negative (-) terminal.
  • We strongly recommend charging your portable jump starter every 1-3 months, even if you haven't used it.
  • Never leave the jump starter discharger at or below 10% for an extended period of time as it may cause permanent damage to the battery.
  • Always keep the portable jump starter in your trunk so you can stay safe on the road, no matter where you are.
  • When boosting your car roadside, always make sure to keep a safe distance from other cars. You can use your hazard lights to warn other cars as well.
